Description
A Chatelaine carried grooming and utility tools. This chatelaine contains a needle case and is based on the traditional Plowed Field design representing the traditional means of making a living. The chatelaines are documented attached to the apron dress about 8″ below the tortoise brooches so they were easy to use. Currently chatelaines are frequently attached to a tortoise brooch.
Grooming tools, comb, sewing snips, needle case, small scissors, a small knife or a key to the valuables chest were often attached to a chatelaine. The grooming tools and all the other pieces are available singly or in sets in other listings on the website.
