Direction Wheel, Symbol of the Four Seasons, The Circle of Life, Odin’s Eye – All of these apply to this simple but deeply spiritual symbol. The original Bronze Age amulet was dated to 600-800 BC, long before Odin became a god in Scandinavia and long before the Viking Age. In Vendel and Viking times it become known as Odin’s Eye. Legend states that Odin sacrificed an eye in exchange for knowledge of the past, present and future in order to become chief among the Norse gods.
