When Romans occupied England from ~42 – 410 AD some of their jewelry designs were adopted by the local Angelo artists. This resulted in a blending of Roman and Angelo designs. Horses, rabbits, dogs, chickens, ducks, ravens and two headed dragon-like beasts, many of which were colorfully enameled by fusing colored glass powder to the item. Original artifacts of these brooches are in the British Museum.
