The serpent eating its own tail is one of the oldest mystical symbols in the world. The serpent eats until it turns itself inside out. At that moment the old universe dies and the new universe is born and the cycle starts all over again. A symbol of infinite rebirth and renewal. In Norse mythology it is called Midgarrd Serpent that, by encirling the Earth and holding its own tail, binds all creation together until the time of Ragnarök when the world is destroyed and two people emerge from the trunk of the World Tree Yggdrasil to populate a new world.
