Valkyries were the maidens of Oden who selected the heroes on the battle field who were to go to Valhalla to fight each day and feast each night to prepare for the final fight along side the gods at Ragnarök. Fate was determined in one of two says, by the Norns who spun out the thread of one’s life or be selected by the Valkyries.
